To Everything There Is a Season
…A time to be silent, and a time to speak.
A time of love, and a time of hatred. A time of war, and a time of peace.
-Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8
Today, the United States of America is in a state of crisis… constitutionally, economically, and morally.
It is A Perfect Storm… created in part by some leaders and their followers in our government, in religious institutions, in the media, in foreign and domestic billionaires who have no right meddling in our political affairs, seeking to control and enrich themselves at the expense of everyone else in our country who they deem unworthy to enjoy the rights and freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution of these United States…it is also created unequivocally in part by us.
This is n0 time to be afraid, unwilling, or complacent… we must not fail to express our outrage against those who are striving to undermine or destroy our way of life in the most respected democracy in the world.
It is no time for vengefulness … it is time to embrace and hold dear our country, our families, our friends, our neighbors, and our brothers and sisters here and throughout the world, especially those most in need physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and economically.
I am by no means an economist, but I fervently believe that the billionaires in our country and throughout the world could readily be the solution to many of the problems and iniquities existing today…to those who have been given much, much is expected… rather than be looked upon as villains, they could be considered champions.
It is not a time for conflict… it is a time for lawfulness and non-violent diplomacy.
I offer a poem from my memoir, “I’m Afraid: The Anatomy of A Disability And The Role of Fear And All of His Children”… a reminder and warning to all of us:
“Guard Against Annoyance”
Annoyance leads to Anger.
Anger leads to Resentment.
Resentment leads to Hatred.
Hatred leads to Revenge.
Revenge feeds the Ego.
An overstuffed Ego
Swells with Pride.
Pride comes before the Fall.
The Fall is into Darkness.
Too much time spent in the Darkness
Results in rejection of the Light.
Rejection of the Light leads to
Loss of the Soul.
Fear has many Children.
We must have faith and trust in one another, and the courage and strength to defeat or, at least, keep Him at bay.
Do Not Be Afraid.
