Have patience with all things, but first of all with yourself. – Saint Francis de Sales
I have had many great teachers who have tried to teach me the virtue of patience.
Two of the best instructors and taskmasters have been bipolar disorder and cerebellitis.
I believe wholeheartedly with St. Francis; the lessons must begin with oneself; alas, I too often have been a poor student.
Patience is waiting,
Waiting patiently for my body to heal.
Patiently waiting in waiting rooms,
Waiting patiently for the phone to ring
To tell me if I’ll ever again see
Patients waiting patiently in my own
Waiting room.
I’m tired of waiting.
I’m running out of patience.
And patients. – Excerpt from “I’m Afraid”
