Fear has spawned many children; one of his favorites is Uncertainty who enjoys traveling with his sibling, Worry- Fear’s most insidious child.
Together they are a formidable, often overwhelming threat to Patience; they frequently leave him beaten and bloody on the ground.
Meanwhile, physical therapy,
At least, something to do.
Regardless of the pain.
After a month they say I can go home.
“How soon will I be better?”
“Four weeks, six weeks, two months?”
“We’re not sure.”
“Be patient.”
After five months we go to Mayo,
Mecca, the best.
Four days; more tests; same answer:
“We’re not sure; time will tell;
“Be patient.”
I have been a patient patient,
But what about my own patients?
Will they patiently wait for me
