I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
-Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein (14 March 1879 – 18 April 1955) was a German-born theoretical physicist who is best known for developing the theory of relativity. He received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his services to theoretical physics.
In February 1933, while on a visit to the United States, Einstein knew he could not return to Germany with the rise to power of the Nazis under Germany’s new chancellor, Adolf Hitler.
The Enabling Act of 1933 was a law that gave the German Cabinet—most importantly, the Chancellor, Adolf Hitler—the power to make and enforce laws without the involvement of the Reichstag or President Paul von Hindenburg.
By allowing the Chancellor to override the checks and balances in the constitution, the Enabling Act was a pivotal step in the transition from the democratic Weimar Republic to the totalitarian dictatorship of Nazi Germany.
In April 1933, Einstein discovered that the new German government had passed laws barring Jews from holding any official positions, including teaching at universities.
With virtually no audible protest being raised by their colleagues, thousands of Jewish scientists were suddenly forced to give up their university positions and their names were removed from the rolls of institutions where they were employed.
In 1954, a year before his death, Einstein said, “I made one great mistake in my life—when I signed the letter to President Roosevelt recommending that atom bombs be made.
Here, then, is the problem which we present to you, stark and dreadful and inescapable: Shall we put an end to the human race; or shall mankind renounce war?”

In light of the events of this past weekend…the attack on Iran was not only a disputable decision, but one not authorized by Congress as is stated and necessary in the Constitution.
There are those who agree with this decision, and those who oppose it. Regardless of the consequences of this action, the fact that it was done without the power of the Advise and Consent power of both Houses of Congress negates their role as one of the three separate and independent branches of our government established and upheld by our world respected and enlightened Constitution.
In fact, such a perilous situation was inevitable, and by no means surprising.
Who, then, should be held responsible?
The President, his Cabinet, his advisors ( governmental and/or otherwise), the Congress, the Judiciary…or us, the people?
I believe it is a combination of them all.
I also believe that the salvation of our democratic Republic rests in the hands of the Judiciary, especially the Supreme Court, both Houses of Congress, and we, the people…especially those who are afraid, for whatever reason, to stand up and defend our country against tyranny…true patriots exemplified by our forefathers, the military, and citizens who stood up and currently stand up to secure freedom and democracy for our country and all of its people.
This is us…This is what we do.
Do Not Be Afraid.
